thoughts about video of earth

blown away by this movie http://messenger.jhuapl.edu/the_mission/images/flyby_images/mdis_depart.mpeg made by the departing MESSENGER Mercury probe. What really intrigues me is that the earth is essentially a mirror.. notice how the sun is reflected in the oceans.

while looking at this image, remember.. this isn’t some CGI-created thing.. this is “real”.
