Litter - grab your butt, and maybe someone else’s too
I have found that as I get older I am more indignant about litter - trash on the ground. I visited Japan a few years ago and that whole country has practically no litter. It seems that most of the country smokes cigarettes but there are never the cigarette butts on the ground we take for granted here. They don’t have trash bins every 10 feet like we do - you have to actual look for one. when you do find one, it’s actually three, with divisions for various kinds of recycling.
I don’t just bitch about it, though, I do something about it. Whe I smoke a cigarette, I take the time to pick up the butts in my immediate vicinity. I don’t want anyone to think any of those butts there were dropped by me. If we all pick up a few more butts than we smoke then some dent can be made in the mess, at least in our immediate environment.
