tarot pull 5/4/2008 and hospital trip…

6 of Disks (reversed) 5 of Disks (reversed) i reversed both of them back to upright. oh yeah, and The Moon was the cut. Immediately after pulling these cards, I went to the hospital to check out soem chest pain I had mentioned to michelle When I walked into the hospital, i saw a sign that said “if you are experienceing chest pain, tell the attendant at the desk”. sigh (i know, i’m having such a typical male tough guy reaction to this) they make me sit down in the wheel chair. By this time, I wasnt having much pain. I’d told Michelle that i had pain on Friday evening, but negotiated that we would go on sunday after brunch. well brunch turned into lunch, and by the time I was at the hospital it was 3:15. They wheeled me into a room (maybe the same room where they had michelle when her elbow was dislocated - we recognized one of the orderlies from then) The put me on a EKG, took blood, explained “plastic vascular catheters” to me (basically the needle they poke you with is sheathed completely except a little away from the tip, and so when they put it in you, it leave s a plastic sleeve, no metal left in the arm. Quite comfortable. I dozed on music with the ipod while awaiting responses. While I was sleeping, the monitor for oxygen or something kept going off and waking me up. When Michelle asked the nurse about this, we learned that that was from sleep apnea, and that i should probably do a sleep study about it. (one of my best friends went through this, and now has to sleep with an oxygen tank and some kind of hose mechanism. yuck, i dont wanna mess with that, but M’s been worrying about her observations that I stop breathing at night. Anyways, after I got out of the hospital, we went to Chili’s. When I was doen, I realized to my chagrin that i hadn’t planned properly for the weather. At 3 it was warm and i needed no more than a t shirt and shorts, but I didn’t carry a jacket so between the restaurant and the car, i got chilled. WHen Igot home I jumped into bed (it was now about 7 or so) and stayed there all night. Laid awake from about 2:45 on, though. my BP was 115/75 resting, i didnt have any troponin (which i would have if i had had a heart attack), they’ve told me to cut down smoking, citrus, spicy foods, etc and consider a sleep study. Here’s the exzct hand written words: “You may need sleep apnea study, decrease smoking, citrus, caffeine, anti-inflammatory, tomato, spicy foods” Bottom line is that I didnt have a heart attack, and I’m supposed to see a doctor about sleep apnea and maybe some GI stuff from a general practitioner.
