I got glasses..

but they were a bust. They don’t make my vision any better at any distance, in fact i think things are fuzzier.

this was not a surprise, not really. a little over 12 years ago, I had my surgery on my eyes in a procedure called astigmatic keratotamy. The recent eye doctor told me that they don’t use that technique much any more because the percentage of success isn’t as high as they like to have nowadays. I think i heard the doctor (recent one, I’m not gonna try to quote a doctor i havent seen in 12 years) say that that technique had about 66% success.

Among the things we discussed was that if we wanted to do anything to fix my eyes now, one of the techniques we would be discussing would be called “cornea transplant”. eww. looking at the world through a dead guy’s eyes. And there’ll still be distortions. Maybe not.

So for now I’ll continue dealing with my headless burning men around headlights, streetlamps, etc. If you could see out of my eyes, you’d possibly be amazed at how psychedelic it is.
