I got a B+…

…in Hebrew calligraphy from a co-worker who has just returned from a trip home to Israel. My sample was not very representative, consisting of one “aleph” written with a highlighter rather than a calligraphy pen. But even cooler, my friend brought back a children’s writing primer which shows how to make “block” hebrew letters, as they would be done with a sharpie rather than a calligraphy pen. That stuff looks much easier to write, in some ways, but harder to read. But with practice i think I’ll at least be able to sound out israeli signs on the news.
