So i am 46 now. yippee. I havent posted anything of substance in a while, why not start now.. So the last week has been kinda stressful because a Major News Event of some sort has reached out and touched my life in an unwelcome way. I think i’ve drank more alcohol in the last week than i did in the previous couple months. M & I went to SLC to be there to see her son Dalton (home from the Navy) because he wa ssupposedly not gonna be in town for xmas. Surprise, he’s gonna be here for just that day, but this weekend has been really chill because it isn’t rhe real xmas weekend. I think i even saw an empty seat or two on the airplane out here.. we hadn’t been here since Easter, and there have been many changes. Carissa, 3 1/2 yrs old, has grown up from a toddler to someone who not only speaks in complete sentences, but has something meaningful to say. I have to keep reminding myself that she’s 3 not 5, like her older sister. We had a huge family dinner last night, something like 15-20 people at the table including all M’s kids, some grandkids, a nephew/niece or two.. a huge table. Because it’s been a while, people changed a lot. I found myself in a space of seeing people’s futures (or thinking I did). For instance, when I saw the little girls, i found myself “seeing” them as adults, and it wasnt always pretty. One girl, Michelle’s niece of a previous marriage, has parents in an odd space. Dad lost his job recently, Mom’s got fibromyalgia and takes lots and lots of pain killers. Dad lost his job a number of months ago, and speculation behind his back is that he’s slingin’ some awful stuff.. (maybe you wanna check out that word in the urban dictionary.. :) work has been a bit stressful for a while. I’m between two positions, the promotion i mentioned a little while back has materialized enough that i am being asked to fix IT things, but production support responsibilities have kept me to busy to be properly trained. The next week and a half will be rough because the guy i’m replacing is on vacation. fun fun fun…. Looks like ill be in town for xmas this year. No travel to michigan, no travel to utah, because i burned up all my vacaiton earlier in the year.
