NOrmally I rail against corpse amerika in speech. Those big behemoths which iconize our landscape with their Logos, ads and fill our houses with more and more stuff we dont need and can’t afford.
Well today I am gonna say a few nice things about BestBuy because I won the extended warranty replacement lottery. Yesterday I came home with a brand new 80G ipod to replace my almost-three-year-old 20G ipod. I like the swap: black and white screen was old, album art made no sense to me but now suddenly i wanna get corresponding jpgs for my mp3s now, but I dont know if I want to let apple know all the stuff I am claiming to own. I have read of ppl getting album art off amazon, but I dont know exactly how to get it into my ipod after the songs are already downloaded.
This one plays videos, too. Big deal for newer ipod owners. the one i just replaced had no photo capability at all .. the “photo” ipod came out about 2 weeks after I bought mine. I think this pretty much rights that wrong.
I am pretty pleased with this. I have had trepidations about my decision to inpulse-buy m ipod at a best buy store. Folks have told me that if I had been to n apple store, they’d have replaced the thing at the first serious problem. Well that would have gotten me maybe a 30G ipod at the time. This way, by replacing my ipod practically at the end of my contract, I get a much nicer replacement.
Of course i’ve already got it over half full. I have emptied two laptops’ roving stores of music to it. It should make an interesting suffle mix. I’ve had to upgrade every copy of itunes in the house and this is forcing me to upgrade my mac to Leopard (oh darn)
It’s funny, i’m all stoked about this thing but all the things i like about have almost nothing to do with music; in fact I was playing around with it for several hours before I ever plugged a sound-playing device into the headphone jack.
