a weekend down memory lane..
We spent the weekend Colorado Springs. I haven’t really been down there in such a way that i had to actually deal with colorado springs since i moved away from there in 1996. We stayed at a kinda cheap hotel (no bed & breakfast this time around - we po) We did all the touristy things like the cog railway, cave of the winds, the gliff dwellings, garden of the gods. The most shocking thing for me was in garden of the gods where they demolished and removed a visitor center in 1996, ripped out the parking lots, and then revegetated the place. There I am, standing there knowing that there was a building there, but not now. Oh, and of course all the nature was behind railings so it could grow in without us humans disturbing it. ’We also went up to the top of pike’s peak.. bad idea for one whose gut is still a little sensitive. Had a good time, though, All in all it was a nice weekend, coming back is always rough.
