I’ve been watching a lot more tv the last few months.
Normally, I don’t waste my time with television. I liken it to smoking cigarettes: nicotine isn’t that toxic in and of itself, smoking cigarettes has carbon monoxide, causes low birth weight, and all that. Tv’s sorta similar: the content is relatively inoccuous, but all the damned commercials and everything.
A few months I discovered bit-torrents, which are a way to download stuff off the internet, and is particularly used by people to download tv shows and lots of other things. The beauty is that I can watch a whole series in a few nights.
I just finished watching all 5 series of ‘24’. Today I feel like I finished a marathon, yet I wonder what happens next in the story. Kinda like when i read Stephen King’s “The Stand” for the first time.
I have several series lined up to watch.. Started with “Max Headroom”, but I also have an HBO miniseries called “Rome”. I’ve been keeping up with the new Doctor Who, just a couple days after broadcast on BBC (another advantage of international torrents). I’m also a few movies behind” V is for Vendetta is on the list, and strangely enough, so is “To Kill A Mockingbird”, but I’ve forgotten why I thought I should see it (other than i haven’t and it seems a pretty important work for its time).
