Happy Birthday, Dad!!

My dad’s 65 today. And I’m not there.

My brother turned 21 last November. I wasn’t there then, either.

My mom’s running a genuine ladies sewing circle revolution, an honest-to-god taxation without representation fight. I’m proud of her, but the best I can do is tell her, on the phone, to go, mom, go. But I’m not there to conspire, not there to support, not there to encourage.

Telephones are only so much use.
