more about our health..

Today I took Michelle to Kat, the massage therapist. THis is her 4th appointment, I didnt get one for myself this time, for a number of reasons.

These massages are supposed to be for the injuries sustained in the accident, and paid for by insurance. Well, Colorado is no longer a no-fault state, so we are supposed to pay for these massages out of our own pockets, supposedly to be reimbursed in the future. Kat charges $125 for an hour and a half, and she seems to think that psychotherapy is part of the package. So for 45 minutes she would talk to me about .. well, the kinds of things that you talk to a psychologist or psychotherapist about.. as it turned out, when I started seeeing her, what was on my mind that week was quitting the last c. Well, that became the subject for each session afterwards.. 45 minutes of talking, 45 minutes of massage, but the massage only deals with the shoulders/neck, and maybe the toe.

I guess that what got me is that I never really asked for counseling. I guess that Kat’s treatments are fine for Michelle, one of the things that Michelle is dealing with is the fear she has since the accident. She freaks out when I pass too close, gasps loudly when someone out there does something stupid (regardless of my reaction to it) and this doesnt make it easy for me to drive safely. I think she actually can benefit from that.

But for myself, if I’m gonna pay over a dollar a minute for massage, then I want massage, not talking. It’s not for sure to me that we’re gonna get all these expenses reimbursed, so I’m treating it like it’s my money that’s getting spent.

Other than that. well my toe still hurts when I bump into stuff (which happens far too often) my shoulder hurts sometimes, sometimes not, and my neck still hurts occasionally, especially when I spend a bunch of time in front of the computer.

I’ve been having only one visit per week to chiropractor for a couple weeks, week after next i’ll be skipping .. starting to wrap this therapy up.
