Systems Manager for a VAX/VMS networked and VAXcluster systems at an international pharmaceutical company. Responsible for supporting VMS and UNIX systems. Supported Pathworks for DOS and MAC OS (including client/server mail for PCs and MACS), Ethernet LAN and DECnet WAN. Wrote system procedures in DCL to automate the creation of print queues, as well as network backups under VMS.

3/1989 - 8/1991 TRW Vehicle Safety Systems Washington, MI System Engineer

System Manager/Administrator for VAX/VMS and UNIX systems (Sequent & Convex) running Oracle databases and other engineering tools. Performed Network Administrator tasks, including VAXen, UNIX minicomputers, PCs and an IBM mainframe used in an engineering and shop-floor environment. Provided support for two different DECnet/SNA gateways.

9/1985 - 3/1989 Electronic Data Systems Detroit, MI System Engineer

Systems Manager for several e-mail networks. Installed system and application software from DEC and other vendors, including All-In-1. Implemented procedures for compliance with internal security standards. Maintained DECnet LAN/WAN. Setup and maintained communications to IBM mainframes using DEC SNA gateways. Managed sand-alone VAX and VAXcluster systems supporting over 600 All-In-1 users at a major corporate headquarters. Performed system tuning which allowed 20% additional user capacity on VAXcluster.

Computer Operator Software resident at a Big-Three automotive engineering facility. Designed and implemented save procedures in DCL. Performed internal user accountmaintenance (including All-In-1).

Performed and maintained save procedures for corporate development systems. Wrote homegrown user account maintenance script and release procedures using shell-scripting languages.
