“One of the gifts the network has given us, is that we don’t feel alone anymore,” says executive vice president of video at Buzzfeed, Ze Frank. The master of the viral video is talking to the WIRED 2014 audience about the addictive nature of the gif, of memes. Essentially, the popularity of both stem from that sense of shared emotion that can be captured so much more succinctly in one image, or on film.
