Hey all..

My name is Bob. i was given the other name by some techno kids about 25 years ago… long story not related to being Pagan.

Like some recently posting, I was raised Roman Catholic but gave that up first chance I got.

I came upon Paganism about 36 years ago by way of discovering drumcircles. First I discovered what a drumcirlce was at the Ann Arbor Hash Bash in 1989 when some folks had some drums on the outside of the crowd generating a cloud. There were a couple of congas, some rattles and bells. I noticed that people were picking up instruments so when a spot next to the conga opened up I stepped up. 4 hours later my hands were blistered and bleeding because i didn’t know what i was doing, and my life had taken a turn.

Looking for information, I found out about a “new moon drumming” at a woman’s house in Detroit. The first one I went to I was the first to arrive. She said “i feel like must warn you that you’ll be intersecting with the magickal community tonight”. Um, ok. After a couple of them, someone asked if i wanted to come and play drums at a Yule rithal. Sure, what’s a Yule ritual? Next thing I know I’m going to my first Pagan festival, followed by my first Rainbow Gathering.

Drumming has been my mainstay, but I’ve been part of a few communities, including a number of years in the local OTO, where I took a bunch of degrees and stuff.

I’ve been in and out of 4 marriages and a couple longish term relationships All but one, maybe two, would probably say “hell yes” if you asked them if they were a priestess.

Currently in the window of where retirement happens, but still working in tech.

I participate in a few drumcircles here and there. I used to host an event called the Erie Drumcircle Fire between 2005 and 2010, monthly events that had a lot of the front range Pagan community in attendance.

I’ve lived in Longmont for about 11 years, originally from Michigan, at least from when i was 5 til i was 31. Like the highlander, asking me where i am from is complilcated, I’m from lots of places, but here is as close as home has ever felt
