An early effort in using ChatGPT was to start building something to support an idea I’ve had for many years. Gatherers and Hunters is one tangible output.

I maintain an idea which I call “landfill karma” which refers to the idea that we leave a trail of waste behind us as we move through the world. One idea I’ve entertained has been that before you go, wherever it is you go after you’re done breathing, you must deal with the pile of waste you’ve contributed to the landfills by your choices of consumption. Someone suggested that if this is true, then it would be good to discard a shovel. Sure. It’ll be at the bottom of the pile, and the handle will be broken.

This book was created so that there could be something to encapsulate the ideas in something more lasting than my rants.
