Drum building progress, part 3
I started on plan B with the second barrel.
To get the desired diameter, I couldn’t just glue the pieces together, i needed a jig of some kind. The pieces of the top and bottom seemed like a good way to go. I’d glue two pieces together at a time, or maybe 3, and over a course of several days I’d rebuild the barrel. This would leave a V between each stave. Wood filler seemed a likely need.
I glued pieces of a top to some scrap 1x4 I had laying around.

In the meantime, I went back to the restaurant and got two more barrels (they were free, they hadn’t gotten rid of them yet)

While this worked, I realized I’d made a mistake not marking which staves were next to each other.

I haven’t taken the new barrles apart yet because they’ve been kind of handy as a work surface just outside my garage. I’ll post more pics when I get that going.
