A SIMPLE GUIDE TO YOUR FIRST EXTRACTION

FOREWORD:

The art and process of extracting DMT for your first time can seem a little overwhelming. There are SO many effective teks, so many products and strange ingredients that can be hard to find and not to mention, just the personal opinions of each tek that get thrown around which confuses the information. There’s a million ways to do something and because of that you usually will get a bunch of different opinions on solving a single issue which will leave you, the first timer, confused. I was a new at this once and it was confusing when I had a question and then 20 people get in a comment fight over what the right answer was. For you as the newbie I’m sure you have felt the same pressure and uncertainty. You wanna do it right the first time! All the ingredients took a while and some effort to get yet, some teks and information just have some holes or little questions that weren’t quite addressed in the tek. Well, This tek is super simple and is my go to tek for extracting MHRB. This tek will give you the pure white crystals that vaporize very smooth and will give you the experience you are looking for Not to mention take all of the shop talk out and break it down step by step. Of course we will see comments and opinions on this tek but I promise if you follow this step by step, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL! Lets begin..

LAB SUPPLIES:

A coffee grinder or magic bullet.
A scale that measures in grams.
A bowl to weight out ingredients (can be plastic)
A half gallon mason jar (Mason jars are heat treated so they can withstand the heat)
A pyrex measuring cup that goes up to 4 cups. (Not 100% needed.. you can use a smaller one and double up your measurements. I like the ones with the ML. Measurements on the other side. NEEDS TO BE PYREX)
A wooden spoon with no dyes or chemical treatments that can reach the bottom of your mason jar. You will also need a stainless steel spoon for mixing your lye water.
A digital cooking thermometer. (One from the dollar store works perfect.)
This is not completely necessary but I recommend get a “karter glass beaker set off amazon for 15 bucks. They help measure smaller ML. Quantities. They come in handy I’m more ways than you can imagine.
A glass pipette. This is a must have! It makes the siphoning process accurate and easy. some people have used a glass turkey baster with success but it tends to be inaccurate. turkey basters are the same price as pipette so do yourself a favor and spend the 10 dollars on amazon and get a long glass pipette. it will come in handy for all your future extractions.
A pyrex casserole dish. I use a smaller shallow one but Any size will work but needs to be PYREX.

And last but not least

plastic wrap
aluminum foil
rubber band
safety glasses
razor blade

Total for all my supplies was about 70usd however make sure to look at second hand stores first to save money.

THE INGREDIENTS

for this tek we will use,

100g of MHRB (mimosa hostillis root bark) this tek will not work with ACRB as that requires lots of other steps and ingredients.
100g of Sodium Hydroxide (lye) can be found at hardware stores in plumbing section cause it’s used as drain cleaner however I get “red hot devil lye” on Amazon it works great and 2lbs goes for about 16usd.
150ml of naphtha (75ml per 50g mhrb). Also can be found at hardware stores cause its basically paint thinner. Goes for 8usd a can. If you cant get naphtha, Rosenthal’s lighter fluid is the same thing and can be found at 711 and other gas stations. Just look at the ingredients on the back and you will see that its naphtha. You can also use heptane.
750iml tap water ( I prefer spring drinking water. Its up to you and makes no difference)

That is all the ingredients and supplies you will need. Remember that you need to use tempered glass for most of this cause we are dealing with heat and the freezing temps of the freezer.

THE TEK

Put 750ml tap water in your pyrex measuring cup. This is where a measuring cup with ML. Measurements comes in handy. make sure it pyrex!
while stiring the water with your stainless steel spoon, add your lye slowly to the water. About a tablespoon or so at a time. Keep stiring as you add the lye so it doesnt stick to the bottom and stir until all 100g of lye is dissolved in your water. Do this step slowly you don’t wanna overheat your glass to fast. You don’t use a wooden spoon for this step because you don’t want any dyes or treatments that are on the spoon to leach out in your lye.
Allow for the lye water to cool to room temp or 70 degrees. Check it with your thermometer! Lye causes a reaction and the water will heat up really hot that’s why the measuring cup needs to be a pyrex cup. The trick to getting white crystals is to not absorb any plant fats by adding to much heat that’s why everything in this tek is at room temperature. SIDE NOTE: this is where personal preference comes in. Some people say they like fatty or “yellow orange” dmt and others like the pure white smooth stuff. Its all up to you as you gain more exp. But for this tek we are extracting pure white spice.
while your lye water is cooling, grind up all 100g of your MHRB in your coffee grinder until its powdered. I grind up little pinches at a time as to not clog up my grinder. It doesn’t have to be perfectly powered just break it down as much as you can. The finer the better!
Take out your half gallon mason jar and Place all of your ground up MHRB in the jar. (Wide mouth mason jars are nice so you can pour everything in easily)
Once your lye has cooled to room temp or (70 degrees Fahrenheit) pour it into your mason jar and stir it with your wooden spoon until you have fully mixed your powder into it. Make sure to stir it well and leave no clumps. Let the jar rest for 10 minutes and you will notice any dry bark has floated to the top. Give it a good mix again with your wooden spoon and let it rest another 10 minutes. Repeat this mixing and waiting process until no dry bark is present. Usually takes about 3 solid mixes over 30 minutes. You need to make sure the bark is fully saturated because if you add the naphtha while there is still dry bark it will cause instant emultions. Be patient and be through. After about 30 minutes or 3 mixes you will notice the bark mixture has turned black. This is the lye eating at the bark, and breaking the bark down, releasing the alkaloids you’re after. Make sure you wear safety glasses when mixing the lye water and when pouring it Into your bark. Don’t get it on your hands, clothes or in your eyes. That Would not be good.
after you have thoroughly mixed your lye water into your bark and made sure there are no dry clumps. measure out 150ml of ROOM TEMP NAPHTHA in your glass measuring cup (or karter beaker if you bought a set). make sure it is room temperature. We don’t need heat for this tek. It pulls out to many plant fats and leaves you with harsh yellow or red dmt. Also not good (in my opinion)
Pour the room temp naphtha into your mason jar with the bark solution.
Cover your mason jar with plastic wrap and secure it with a rubber band. We don’t use the lid for this cause if pressure builds it will shatter the jar. That’s why you use the plastic wrap and rubber band.
Grab the jar from the top and lightly SWIRL it around until the 2 layers become 1. Take your time and don’t shake it hard. Mix as hard as you need to in order to get the layers to mix. just don’t violently shake the jar. If you mix it up to rough you will get what’s called emulsions ( emulsions are tiny pieces of your bark layer that become trapped in your naphtha which are really hard to get out and leave you with harsh and dirty spice) So take your time and slowly swirl the jar until the 2 layers mix. Take as long as you need. roughly 30sec to 1 min is usually all it takes to mix the layers.

11th) repeat this mixing process every 4 to 6hrs for the next 24hrs. Mix it up, let it sit, mix it up, let it sit. This gives the naphtha time to pull all the alkaloids from the bark in a single pull. (The problem I see with a lot of teks is over complication of this part. They pull their naphtha in and out of the jar 3 to 4 times to get all the spice but only let their naphtha sit in the jar for a hour. Don’t do this! Give your naphtha a full 24hrs to work the bark while mixing the 2 layers every 4 to 6 hours. If you do this you will get all of your spice in 1 single pull and save yourself a lot of time and unnecessary transfers.)

After 24hrs and the 2 layers have separated for the last time, remove the plastic off your jar and get your pipette or turkey baster.
Siphon off the naphtha layer at the top of the jar into your pyrex casserole dish.( BE CAREFUL AND DONT SUCK UP ANY OF THE BOTTOM BLACK LAYER WITH YOUR NAPHTHA) You will notice the naphtha is yellow. This is all the spice in your naphtha.
after all your naphtha is out or your mason jar and in your casserole dish cover the dish with aluminum foil tightly and place it in your freezer (we cover it so your naphtha doesn’t evaporate in your freezer and leave you with weird tasting food) Leave it in your freezer for 24hrs. After putting it in the freezer cover your mason jar back up with the plastic again and set it off to the side for now.
After 24hr remove your dish from the freezer. Remove the foil and you will see all your Crystal’s stuck to the dish. Take an empty glass beaker or glass cup and pour the naphtha from your casserole dish into the glass cup an careful not to pour any dmt Crystal’s with it.
Place your casserole dish upside down, leaned up against a wall, in a ventilated area to allow your spice to dry and the remaining naphtha to evaporate. Don’t worry! your crystals will not fall out. I personally leave mine propped up against a wall upside-down for about 4 to 5 hours with a towel underneath to soak up any remaining naphtha that drips off my dish. A easy way to determine if its done drying is the inside and outside of your casserole dish will be completely dry.
The naphtha you poured into your cup out of the pyrex dish you can warm back up to room temp and pour back into your mason jar and repeat the process for 24hr to try and pull more spice from the bark. However I find this to be unnecessary. By giving our naphtha a full 24hrs in our solution the first time, it was able to get all the spice in a single pull. You’re welcome to try however, I’ve never got anything on a second pull with this tek.

This tek is very simple and with the measurements I gave you, you should extract 1 to 1.5g of pure white spice.

Once your crystals dry scrape them out of your dish with a razor and don’t touch them with your fingers because your body heat alone can melt them. keep them in a airtight bottle in a dark dry place until your ready to vaporize. Keep them away from light and air as dmt oxidizes. A little bottle in your sock drawer is a perfect spot.

I hope this helped clear up a lot of confusion for the new guys and girls wanting to do their own extractions. Like I said there are a million ways to do an extraction. There’s a lot of personal preferences and opinions out there but this tek is very easy for a beginner to follow and will leave you with great high quality spice that’s sure to bring an even higher quality experience. FAQ

“My naphtha isn’t mixing into the solution should I mix harder?”

A. YES. Mix and swirl the jar as hard as you need to to get the layers to mix. I usually swirl the jar pretty hard and fast. You just don’t wanna shake the jar and get a bunch of air bubbles in the solution. The naphtha will start to separate almost immediately and that’s perfectly fine because we are giving the naphtha a full 24hr in the solution. So just mix as hard as you need just don’t violently shake the jar or mix with a spoon or stick.

“Can I buy pre powdered bark or do I have to use whole bark and grind it myself?”

A. YES. You can use pre-powdered and get the same results. The reason I buy whole bark and grind it myself is personal preference. I like being apart of every step. I put on some good music, grab a cold drink and have a grinding session. I like to put lots of positive vibes and love into every step. Grinding the bark is fun and I just feel like the more work you put in the better your results will be. I’ve also noticed that buying bark pre-powdered is more expensive. Whole bark tends to be cheaper then the powdered because the company didn’t have grind it up. So keep that in mind.

“Can I do this tek with larger amounts of bark?”

A. YES. This tek is for 100g of bark however if you wanted to do 200g of bark you would just double all your ingredients.

“What vaporizer do you use to partake?”

A. I personally use a 3 coiled vaporizer called the “Ionix”. Its made by gravlabs. Cost about $80 USD and is my favorite method of consumption. Its a 3 coiled vaporizer that allows you to fire each coil individually or all together which comes in handy when sharing with friends. I DO NOT RECOMMEND OR USE A OIL BURNER (crackpipe). When smoking you loose your motor skills very quick and the last thing you wanna be dicking with is a hot glass pipe and a lighter. Its better to have everything at the push of a button while reality is melting around you.

“I work long hours. Can I leave the dish in the freezer longer then 24hrs?”

A. YES. Your spice will be perfectly fine in the freezer until you can get to them. Just make sure to leave them in there no less then 24hrs.
